Massachusetts Wood Stove Change-Out Program Instant Rebates $500 – $3000
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), with support from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Energy Resources, visited Enchanted Fireside on March 27 to launch the 2017 Wood Stove Change-Out Program. The program offers financial incentives to assist Massachusetts residents in replacing non-EPA-certified wood stoves with cleaner, more efficient wood or pellet stoves. All Massachusetts residents currently operating a non-EPA certified wood-fired stove or fireplace insert are eligible to apply for instant rebates of $500 – 1750 off the cost of replacing their existing stoves. Mid-to-low-income applicants who meet certain requirements are eligible for instant rebates up to $3,000.
|Old, non-EPA certified wood stoves are those legally manufactured before July 1, 1988 (when EPA began to require certification). Many of these stoves have metal, not glass doors.|
