50 years ago, Dudley Hussong started something special in Lakefield, Minnesota. What began as a small operation has grown into Kozy Heat Fireplaces — still family-owned and still proudly rooted in our community.

Now, with President Jim Hussong alongside his daughters — Vice President Heather Hussong Reasoner and Sarah Severson, who will step into the CFO role in 2026 — and supported by the incredible employees, dealers, distributors, & suppliers who have been part of this journey every step of the way, their story is still being written.

From heating Dudley’s father’s small millwork shop during the fuel embargo to growing into a leading fireplace manufacturer, their journey has always been fueled by family, craftsmanship, and community. They are proud of where they started and even more excited about where they’re headed.
